Belfast walking tours

Two tours, one blue umbrella. Start with the city centre, then go deeper with the political tour of Falls Road and Shankill Road. Both are free tours: you pay what you like at the end.

How a free tour works

  1. Book your place

Reserve on the booking calendar with a £1 booking fee, so we know you're coming. You get your confirmation by email straight away.

  2. Look for the blue umbrella

Your guide will be at the meeting point a few minutes before the start, rain or shine.

  3. Pay what you like at the end

When the tour finishes, you decide what it was worth. Most travellers give between £10 and £20 per person.

Why walk with us

Our guides meet you at the gates of City Hall. In Belfast, the weather is part of the story.

Local guides, real stories

We live here. You get the history with the anecdotes, the humour and the places that don't make the guidebooks.

5.0 stars on Google

Local guides in Belfast since 2019. The reviews are our travellers', the blue umbrella is ours.

Questions before you book

Is the tour really free?

There is no fixed price. You confirm your place with a £1 booking fee and, at the end of the tour, you give your guide what you think the tour was worth. Cash or card, it's up to you.

Which tour should I do first?

If it's your first time in Belfast, start with the Free Walking Tour of the city centre. If you're here for the history of the Troubles, the political tour is the one most of our travellers rate highest. Many people do both.

What if it rains?

The tour goes ahead. Bring a rain jacket and comfortable shoes: the weather in Belfast changes quickly, and so do the stories.

Can I bring children?

Yes on the city tour, which works well for families. The political tour covers violence and difficult history, so it isn't designed for young children.

I'm coming from Dublin. Do I need an ETA?

If you don't hold a British or Irish passport, yes. Northern Ireland is part of the UK, and the UK ETA is required even if there are no checks on the border. Apply on the UK ETA app or GOV.UK a few working days in advance. If you live legally in Ireland, you don't need it to visit from there.

Prefer a tour just for your group?

We also run private tours, tours for students and excursions for cruise passengers.
